HEALTH JUSTICE
Health Justice in Illinois
IPHI believes in the power of people, communities, and organizations working together to build sustainable foundations for health and equity.
Inequities in health outcomes are unjust—and preventable.
The birthplace of settlement houses, transformational child labor laws, and some of the world’s most well-known community organizers, Illinois has been a center of social change for centuries. We are also a place with wide health inequities, created by unjust laws, policies, practices, and systems.
IPHI amplifies the voices of people who have been historically marginalized, strengthens the capacity of community-based organizations, and improves state and local policies and systems to create meaningful change across Illinois and beyond.

A Catalyst for Collective Action
IPHI helps create solutions grounded in community by recognizing the power of people most affected by health inequities.
We work across sectors, focusing on food, housing, healthcare, education, public health, and the environment, to help ensure that these systems work for all of us.
Together we are opposing systems of oppression by creating systems that empower.
