Join your fellow health administrators/local Board of Health members for a dialogue on how we make tough choices on local health priorities in these tough times. Three Illinois health administrators—from Adams, Kane, and Peoria counties—will kick off the discussion with brief presentations on their approaches to these issues over the past year. Their presentations will illustrate how they addressed one or more of the following areas in making funding recommendations to their Boards:
Alignment of local health department primary mission responsibility with available resources.
Using core public health philosophies to guide the programming decision making process.
Applying the national public health accreditation standards as a guide for re-organization and staffing decisions.
