GOHIT Releases Final Report

The Governor’s Office of Health Innovation and Transformation (GOHIT) has released the final Work Group Report from its stakeholder engagement process. From Innovation to Implementation is a reflection of the implementation work group process that took place from June to December of 2014. The Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI), with support from the Illinois Framework,  The Chicago Community Trust, and the Michael Reese Health Trust helped coordinate the stakeholder feedback process which resulted in over 800 pages of recommendations and supporting documents.

The GOHIT work group recommendations addressed the five health system transformation drivers that were identified in the Innovation Plan and the Medicaid Section 1115 waiver application:

  • Integrated Delivery System Reform
  • Supports and Services for people with specific needs
  • Public health integration
  • Workforce expansion
  • Data and technology, for continuous health system improvement

The final report is divided into 3 sections that are currently available for public viewing on the GOHIT website: (1) Report (2) Detailed recommendations and (3) Additional Material Appendices.

During Wednesday’s final Alliance for Health Steering Committee meeting, GOHIT presented the final report and identified the need for continued stakeholder engagement for successful implementation of the recommendations.
