Mobilizing Action through Planning and Partnerships Training- June 24

In partnership with the Illinois Department of Public Health, IPHI is hosting training on MAPP to be held June 24th from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the IDPH Training Center in Springfield, Illinois.  The training will be led by Mary Kate Allee from the National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO) and Laurie Call from IPHI who has worked with the MAPP process in over 15 communities.

MAPP is a strategic approach to community health improvement and an equivalent assessment and planning process for IPLAN.  The MAPP tool was developed by NACCHO in cooperation with the Public Health Practice Program Office, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  This training will focus on the steps to a collaborative community health assessment and community health improvement process and includes interactive skill-building exercises, and peer learning.

Training Objectives

At the end of the MAPP training, participants will be able to describe:

  • Why MAPP is a long-term, system-wide paradigm shift in public health practice
  • How to begin the MAPP process
  • The six phases of MAPP
  • How to use the National Public Health Performance Standards within the MAPP process for performance improvement
  • Where to find MAPP resources
